Car is 1986 740T with B230 engine.
In heavy, stop and go traffic, it will frequently
shut off. Usually as I let my foot off the accelerator,
anticipating another stop. Normal idle speed is around
800 - 900 rpm. Car can be restarted instantaneously, and
it's just a matter of time before it shuts off again.
Normal highway type of driving is perfectly fine.
I suspect some component is overheating. Perhaps Hall's
sensor. What I don't understand is, the car restarts fine.
Faulty Hall's sensor requires much cooler engine temperature.
Any ideas ?
