well i must say i have never had such an experience. and to think it's not over yet. i started out to remove my fan motor in my 87 240 wagon by following the instructions in my haynes manual. got to the point where it says ; unhook the heater core suply lines...... un bolt the "unit and take it out". well i think i found the screws that hold it in but not sure. then i noticed that my trusted book did not mention the ac components. is it the same housing as the heater core and fan?.
looks like it soooo. i read it again, looked at all the pictures, no help. sooo i go to the brick board.
learned that when you type in 240 blower motor you get a link on 740's. that starts of with "if you've ever done a 240 then this will be....." well i ain't done one.
then i searched fan motor. bingo. found out that you should take your dash out to do this. nice pictures. nice garage. must have a second car, i say to myself "nope can't do that, gotta drive the car to work in the morn'n. and its kinda cold outside.
then i found the post that detailed how to cut it out. so i borrowed a dremmel and............. it's taken a week. no garage. rain. been kinda cold. but by Gods grace i'm almost done.
well in all this, i forgot a couple of things. i forgot which wire went where in my instrument cluster (bulbs had blown so scince every thing else is apart why not) found out the little white wire w/red stripe is for the tac i don't have yet. found out that wheh you hook it to one of the little posts behind the spedo, you get little wisps of smoke coming from the instruments and the car doesn't start. so whats a good price for an instrument set with tac. new and used.
i also forgoty which wires go where on the ac control knob, i decided not to learn any thing on accident this time. theres a single grn, dble grn, red and one other who's color i can't remeber right now. where dop they go. any one got a good pick or drawing of the back of that switch with wires attached.
i can't find it in the haynes manual wiring diagrams at all. so if anyone could give me some specifics on that i'd be greatful.
i forgot one other thing but i can't remeber what it is........
oh yeah how dificult is it to cover to a big tac with a small clock on the
side type of set up?
