Plastic radiator warning... 700

Just thought I would share something I learned about the original plastic with two core radiators... perhaps others have had the same problem, if not here is a little warning and a helpful hint...

The connection at the radiator for the upper radiator hose broke off into pieces yesterday while I was driving home. When the car overheated I pulled off into a parking lot and found the upper radiator hose blown off. I found the pieces of plastic sitting in the upper radiator hose, quite a few of them I might add. There was not much of anything to connect the hose back to the radiator.

Of course, I needed to get home, which was only a couple of miles down the road. So in case you get stuck in a jam like this...after looking around in my car... I cut off the top of a soda bottle I had in the car, pushed the threaded part into the radiator hole, taped it up, then clamped the hose to the top then taped it up somemore, I like duct tape. I wouldn't suggest you could drive far but it did get me home in time to order an upgrade radiator (all metal).

Best Regards,
