The 240DL wagon lost power while driving it, undrivable now. It will start, but I have to keep pumping the gas pedal in order to keep it running. It is running smooth while it runs for a couple seconds, but it won't idle and won't rev up either. It has a B23F engine with electronic fuel injection, Jetronic I think. Someone said it might be the mass air meter. Does anyone have a troubleshooting method that doesn't require fancy equipment. I have a volt-ohm-meter. I thought of checking the fuel pressure by pulling the hose off the pressure regulator(?) that is mounted at the front end of the injector rail, but I don't have a high pressure guage for fuel pumps. (mine only goes to 7 psi). Does anyone have any suggestions other than taking it to a shop? It is stuck on the side of the road now!
