sealing rear lights 200

hi,

i had to put something in my boot before and it is raining an awful lot down here in brisbane. i noticed a small pool of water in my boot. on the centre part. i noticed some dampness here a while ago after some similar rain. i suspect it is coming in through the left hand rear taillight area. what is the best way to seal the taillight to the body. i have had some damage there in the past and a new taillight has been fitted so i imagine the body and the light don't line up perfectly. i thought silicone sealant could be used once again...any other suggestions would be most appreciated.

thanks,
chez
