1990 Volvo 740 GL - Strange noise coming through air vents 700 1990

Hi, I'm a relatively new car owner, and also a new driver. I just bought a 1990 740 GL. The body is amazing, and the guy who owned it before me (one owner only) has taken great care of this car. You could eat off the engine.

Having said that. I'm a little concerened about a noise that's coming out of my air vents, could be the heater core? Bearing? Not sure, but the noise is there when the temperature selector is off, and when I do make the selection it's only louder. It could be a faulty fan (bearing) or it could the sound of fluid bubbling in the rad, it's so hard to say, maybe even a combination of both.

I'm suspecting it's the radiator, and probably needs fluid. Since I only just got this car today, and haven't had a chance to get the maintenance manual, does anyone recognize this phenomenon, and if it is that rad, is it a pressurized rad system, or can I just simply open and fill it without much fuss?

Thanks
