Installed a new fuel sending unit to fix a fuel gauge that hasn't worked in 3 years. The job was easier than I expected. My Volvo dealer claimed this was a $400 job.(cost me $60 plus 3 hours labor.) The metal tubes coming off the unit were badly corroded. The wires going into the tank where also completely corroded. Its my guess the fuel pump wasn't even working. Replaced the fuel sock, gasket, fuel line clamps, sending unit but used orginal pump, bung nut. The hose in the tank was in good condition with almost no corrosion to anything inside the tank. The bottom of the cover had some rust so that got sanded and repainted.
