'89 240 more tail lamp/brake lamp voodoo 200

I'm still confounded.

(1) Why does my left taillight go out when the brake pedal is pressed?

(2) Plus, there are no brake lamps working except for the third brake lamp?

(3) if I wiggle the white plastic connectors, all sorts of intermittent changes occur?

[And the press-on-the-brake-pedal-&-the-tail-light-goes-out wiggle position (3) has the most lamps on]. How do I fix this?
