My thanks to the folks who responded to my "Which service manual should I buy?" question posted a few days ago. I've ordered the Bentley manual on your advice.
I've got a question the manual will probably answer, but it's in the mail and I'm hoping someone here can spare me the wait. One of the dashboard idiot lights on my new 1992 240 has come on. I don't have the original glove-box manual and, since this is my first Volvo, I'm a dummy about which light it is. I'm pretty sure it's either the check engine light or a service indicator light.
Position wise, it's the lite on the far right -- the last one on the right (from the vantage point of a seated driver). It's orange and depicts a round icon with a little bubble on top and lines radiating outward (remeniscent of a child's drawing of the sun). It sort of looks vaguely like an alarm clock to me, which makes me lean towards a service interval indicator. But I'm worried it may be telling me of something more serious and I'm kind of afraid to drive it till I know.
Which light is this, and am I in trouble?
Pete
