Extra wires in a 1972 1800 ES 1800

Have had a few ES CARS, and they all have 7 extra wires that run from near the inside fuse panel to the back of the car. They are in a set of 3 and one set of 4 wires. Two of the wires end close to the rear dome light. None of the 7 wires are connected at either end. Anyone know why Volvo put them in?
Also looking for a reasonable place to buy a fuel pump,and new wire connectors that plug into the fuel injectors on me ES.
