Were 83 240's prewired for the ambient air temp guage? 200

While it's still -20 outside today and that is where my Volvo sits I was looking under the hood for a location for an accessory ambient air temp gauge sender I recently purchased. In the drivers side up by the battery I see a yellow wire with a ring end and a little rubber boot similar to the one pictured on an E-Bay ad. Is this the wire for the ambient gauge sender?
Is the car also prewired for the oil temperature sender? The wiring diagrams in the Haynes manual does not show that the cars are factory prewired.
