Sport exhaust upgrade 700 1989

I have a chance to pick up an exhaust system with custom bent pipe from the cat back (eliminates the first muffler) and has a stainless sport muffler at the rear.
This was on a 760Turbo. I have a non-turbo B230 with the OEM exhaust. Will the cat from the 760T bolt up to the header pipe from the 89 nonturbo?
I think the turbo is 2" and the nonturbo is 1 7/8".
This 740 is going to be a present for my son as soon as he gets a REAL job.
(But he might want to keep his repainted 83 245 that I am working on=new tires and rebuilt OD to add on).
