I have a 1988 240 that I bought with a JVC aftermakrket am fm cassete deck. I usually just listen to the fm raido. It seems that when I turn the car on after it has been sitting a while I get static on fm. Sometime if I stick my finger inside the cassete deck I can get the reception to work great for the rest of the day. I have already replaced the mast but that did not help, at least it goes down now! I thinking it must be the radio. What do you think?
I would like to replace the radio that I have now with a CD Player. Was their a Am FM Cd from a newer model volvo like a 960 or 850 that I could retrofit into my 240? I have looked at some of the after market radios and I have found many of them to be to flashy for my 240 dash. I don't want my windows screen saver on my dash! I have seen a Nakamituchi (spelling?) before at a store that looked nice, but they seem to be hard to get a hold of. I have also heard various oppions as to how well they hold up? Not sure. I think my 1st choice would be to find a decent volvo radio to put in there, just to keep it simple and somewhat original in apperance.
Thanks Brickboarders!
