How do you tell if you need those darn things replaced? Do the following indicate I need the trailing arm bushings (or maybe others too)
1) My 240 seem to sit level on ground, but when jacking up on the diff, the driver's side of the axle (and not the body...it's still level) goes up higher than the right. How's this even possible?
2) I do hear a clunk on an occasion when reversing or when placed in drive. 3) I also noticed that the car sorta shudders/rumbles when pulling away or shifting from 1st to 2nd, almost like there is a bad u-joint. Two weeks ago, I replaced the center carrier bearing and I carefully inspected the u-joints, which are still in great shape. The shudder used to happen before that.
4) Also, the car sorta lunches forward when placed in D or R while the foot's on the brake. I think the handling has gotten worse too....but then again I never thought this car had any exceptional handling even before.
One last question....when replacing the TAB (with the tool), which side do you press it in from, inside or outside ofthe bushing housing? I am not sure if I asked this question right....
Hopefully, I will replace them before spring.
TIA!
