any good tranny shops in Seattle area? 200 1988

My Volvo mechanic apparently doesn't like to rebuild auto trannies. They either drop in a junkyard tranny or a new tranny. I'm not sure I like either option. Any tranny rebuild gurus in the Seattle area? And anyone know the approx cost for a rebuild? I'm hoping this is something less serious than a tranny issue, but want to be prepared if it is. Thanks.

btw, this a 88 240. I posted the issue below but no one has responded. Seems to stump my mechanic, too. Maybe a weird exhaust backpressure issue?
