My friend has a '90 740 GLE with over 200K miles. The brake pedal has started slowly easing to the floor when pressed for several seconds (train, traffic light, etc.). I'm assuming this is an indication of a leaking master cylinder.
Could there be another cause for this symptom, or should I just go ahead and replace the master cylinder? If so, is there anything special I should know? I assume I'd just transfer the resorvoir, bench bleed the master cylinder, and then bolt it on. Then pressure bleed each wheel cylinder. Anything else I should know? And what is the preferred order for bleeding the wheel cylinders?
The car has ABS brakes.
Thanks for any and all advice.
