When I start my 240 cold, it often sputters and dies immediately after it turns over. When it dies, it turns over fine, but sometimes will die again. If it doesn't die again, it sputters and idels rough for about 30-60 seconds. After that, it idles fine and starts with no problem. I have changed the following (plugs, wires, cap & rotor, coil, PCV system, fuel filter). I have run a can of Techron through at highway speeds (although it probably could use a 2nd can), but have not cleaned out the throttle body yet.
I find that when it is about to die or is sputtering, if I just give it some gas, and it runs through it. The car also misses a bit at all engine speeds.
I am thinking of testing the following components: idle control valve, coolant temp sensor, knock sensor, throttle switch, and mass air meter (I hope it is not that!!!). Can anyone tell me if I am on the right path, or if they have ever had this problem??
THANKS
