I'm having a problem with my '91 740. In november my brake lights stopped working, so I took it to a shop and they replaced the switch on the pedal, but that didn't fix it so they changed the bulb failure relay. That fixed the problem.
Last week I realized that my brake lights are not working again. The fuse is good. Could the bulb failure relay have gone bad again in only a few months? I popped the covers off of the old relay and the new one that they replaced to see if a solder joint was cracked or broken like it says in the FAQ. I'm not sure what to look for, everything looked fine to me. I really don't want to buy another $120 relay, and I don't know what else to look for.
