Power window woes - broken mounting plate 700 1986

My driver's side rear window stopped working and the glass was able to go up and down freely, so I decided to take the panel off and see what was happening. The white plastic mounting plate for the motor is cracked in several places and needs to be replaced. I know there is info on the FAQ about this, but I wondered if anyone has fixed this successfully and could offer me suggestions as to how to get the job done without going crazy? The whole area is virtually inaccessible (makes a flame trap, by comparison, look like it's on a broad highway) and I can't seem to figure out how to get the pieces out and then how to get them back in there. (A new door from a junkyard?)

Thank you all for your help!
