Fuse blows when A/C compressor engages 200

Every time I turn on the A/C, it blows the fuse. A/C was working fine prior to this incident. Do I need a new compressor? Should I bother with a R134 conversion if the A/C was working fine prior to this?

By the way, it may just be my opinion....but the fact that the power windows and the A/C are on the same fuse is a bad electrical design. My fuse blew in the dead heat of the summer and I was far from an auto parts store....that would have been a hot ride home with the windows rolled up and the A/C not working. So I stole the hazard light fuse to lower the windows...and I keep lots of spares now. Live and learn.
