and if yes, how is it done?
Our right Headlight bulb is out (Lasted 12 years). Are they expensive? Is OEM the best value or a necessary choice for any other reason ... or is after-market ok ... which aftermarket, local like a Pep Boys ... or FCP, IPD?
Not to make an issue out of a little bulb, but I recall reading about OHMS matching and other issues that trigger the bulb out dash light. Here is basically what was said:
" ...you may have slightly mismatched bulbs. The circuit is tested by checking for current going across the entire circuit. If the current is off by a bit, it can trigger the failure warning light. This can happen if you get a bulb of one brand and then later replace the opposite side's bulb with a different brand. even though they may be the same type of bulb, the filament may be slightly different. Replacing in pairs is a solution."
Btw, if I recall, another solution mentioned by a board member was not to replace in pairs (eventually too expensive), but to simply make sure of something? I don;t recall what that something was.
Anyone remember?
Thanks--diyer
