4 cylinder spark plug wiring 700

I have just started working on cars and am trying to get my 1991 740 running. The car had been sitting in the driveway for roughly 5 months. I started by changing the oil, air filter, and battery. It got running but wouldn't start consistently, so I tried changing the spark plugs. I think I got the ordering wrong when I put the wires back on, because the car has no acceleration and hardly moves at less than 3000 rpm. There is also an awful clunking noise that sounds like it is coming from underneath the engine, which happens sporadically and seems to go away at higher rpms. Does anyone have a diagram that matches the distributor cap outputs to the cylinder head bores in the engine? Any other ideas about the problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian
