So I wrestled the sender unit out only to be left with a few questions:
The accordian hose looked like it had collapsed, however the hose clamps that were on the pump are in very good shape (and are of much higher quality than anything I could buy around here). The hose I got from IPD is normal fuel hose, but the O.D. is way too large to fit in the (nice) hose clamps. Is thin walled fuel line something I could find easily from someone other than the dealer?
The insulation for the ground wire is shot. Bentley says replace, which makes sense. Explosion hazard if I don't? Who sells good fuel tolerant wiring (it's impractical to buy locally, waaay too expensive)?
That IPD tool is worth its weight in gold. I can't imagine banging at the retaining ring with a pair of screwdrivers.
