Volvotics,
I have a very peculiar noise in my car; I can hear and feel it through my clutchpedal, so I presume it is a defect in my clutch. It started out as though my clutchcable needed a thorough greasing, because it felt through my pedal as if my cable was rusty inside the bowdencable. So I greased it, but the defect remained. It makes a rattling, scraping sound, and it is not rpm-related. It occurs at irregular intervals, and when I push down my clutchpedal by hand an inch, while driving (not to do in busy traffic...)the pedal kicks back, making the noise.
I have my gearbox swapped for a 240 4sp+OD, and have therefor fitted the driven plate from a 240 in my 140 clutch, which was in good condition on reassembly (2 months ago) The throwout bearing was also in good condition, and I put a dab of grease on the clutcharm-pivotpoint, in the bellhousing.
The complaint hasn't been there since the trannyswap, but came up two weeks ago.
I am puzzled; can anybody share some light ?
Thanx allready !
