front right clacking 900

just started to notice with the nice weather and the windows open

when i hit bumps the right front end makes a clack noise

my dad's 740 did this for years and i am dreading to hear what it is

i have to take 2 fairly long trips this week totaling around 1200miles
and i need to know if my car is safe enough to do this

is it the struts? shocks?
