Transmission and Brake Question 700 1991

Re: '91 740 Wagon 170K miles
After a long cold winter I finally got around to installing a new radiator ... the previous one gave out in December and the car has literally not been used in 4 months. All went fine until I test drove it and now the automatic transmission seems to be acting up. The RPM's are too high before it kicks into 3rd and 4th gear. I checked the fluid level and it's at the max level. I replaced the overdrive solenoid in Aug. '02 because trasmission wouldn't go from 3rd to 4th gear at all. The new solenoid fixed the problem and the tranny was working fine at the time the radiator gave out 4 months ago. I would appreciate any troubleshooting suggestions on what might be the cause and a possible solution.

Also, the brakes seem to be pulsating a small amount when you first put down the brake pedal and it disappears as you push harder. Could the long nap for this car have caused the seals and/or master cylinder to have dried up? Any suggestions on this would also be appreciated. Thanks.
