Where is the turn signal wire? 700 1986

Hello,
I am going to be wiring up the european style side markers on my 86 745 soon in place of the volvo emblem. I want the turn signals to flash at the same time as the front turn signal. I was going to wire them in parallel. Where do the wires that go to the front turn signals run under the dash? If possible, I don't want to run the wire for the side marker all the way to the turn signal, I'd rather just run it to the relay output wire or something like that. Anyone know which wires I'd be looking for, or should I just run the wires to the front of the car?

Also, I noticed underneath a plastic panel by the driver's left foot a dark piece of plastic about the size of a cantaloupe that looks like it could be covering an air vent hole. I know in my mother's 240 there is a vent that can be opened by your feet on the driver's side. Was this idea dropped in the 740 but they left the hole? Did any 740's come with this vent operational?

Thanks,
Nathan
