780 seat wiring harness 700

Has anyone ever had a problem with the under seat wiring harness feeding the power seat switches? I have read that with the seat movement over time that shorts may occur. Is this so? And if so, how did you rememdy the situation? Can this condition be checked without removing the harness and spliting the harness cover (test light at switch board?)? What would I look for in this case? Please help.
