California has the highest standards for smog emmission. I can remember growing up in LA and not being able to see buildings down the street because of the smog and my lungs buring after 15 minutes outside. I for one am so happy with the tough emmission standards. I usually don't have to do much except change the plugs, oil and filters and the car passes quite well. I got a new Cat two years ago, changed my plugs, plug wires, coil, cap, rotor about a year ago, but that is general maintence items.
Car is beautiful and running well. Redid my stereo system and I'm happy. Traffic jams don't bother me, I just turn on the music.
Just thought I'd share. Have fun.
