Severe Inside Tire Wearing - Wheel Bearings????????? 200 1990

I have severe inside tire wearing on the front tires. My tires only lasted about 10,000 miles. I had the front end aligned before I installed the tires, and was told it could be the wheel bearings.

Has anyone heard of this problem...I have a 1990 240DL.
