CD changer Installation 900

Hi,
I want to install a cd changer in my 92 965. (I wanted one when I bought the car but Volvo wanted $800!) I've read the archives but still have an installation question. I think the Alpine s620 or s630 will work with my cd controlling radio. I will also use a Volalp adapter.

It appears that all I have to do is mount the cd changer in the space provided for it in the trunk area, plug the adapter into the existing CD cable back there, and plug the other end of the adapter into the cd changer.

Is it that simple or am I missing something? Does the existing cable provide power and controlling functionality for the cd changer?
