powerwindow fuse update 200

Yes it is the number 12 fuse instead of the no.10. Also I see i have no backup lights.

Went through about fifteen fuses trying to replicate the behavior that makes the fuse blow.... It happens when (i have a manual 4sp od) i toucch the shifter to the extreme left side of the h=shifting pattern- that is the i pull the shift lever over all the way to the max extent on the drivers side- the way you sorta clear the stick for putting in gear- When it touches the side( drivers side only) the fuse blows.

I crawled under looking for shorts- Volia- I found a conector with a rubber boot hanging down. This thing is nearly impossible to access.

it looks to go on what apears to be the backup light switchlocated on the leftrear tranny housing.

SYMPTOM hanging down, i tiuch the stick to the left side of the shifting pattern and it shorts, BUT if the loose wire connector is conected to the conector it appears to connect to then the windows run fine- no short

PROBLEM IS that the connector does not fit snugly onto its prong on the tranny. When conctact is made or broken(by driving over bumps) the no12 fuse blows.

AM I MISSING AN INTERMEDIATE THINGYCONNNECTOR BETWEEN THE BOOTED WIRE CONECTOR END AND IT TRANY CONECTOR THAT KEEPS ME FROM SNAPING IT INTO PLACE?

Can i nip of the booted end of the wire and crim on a new snug conector?

What is the conector and were can I get it? Volvo?

SO TO REVIEW- I FOUND THE SHORT- AT THE CONECTION TO THE BACKUP LIGHT SENSOR ON THE TRANY. not I NEED TO SEE HOW TO MAKE IT CLIP ON TIGHT

Thanks again for all the help. Im getting closer

Remember... its not just a car, it's a hobby.....
