Overfilled my engine oil by 1/4 quart...and a question about differential/gear oil... 200

Bricksters,
Change my synthetic oil regularly; however, this time for some stupid reason I over-filled my crankcase by roughly 1/4 of a quart. Is it okay to leave it that way until I get the time to drain it off (since I replaced every major gasket/seal and can no longer rely on oil leaks to do that for me)?
Also, I would like to change my differential fluid (1990 240dl b230) and would like some opinions as to what weight and fluid type might be the best... Peace, Love, & Boogie on, Jon
