Automatic Transmission AW70 200 1988

My automatic transmission AW70 is in the excellent condition (88 240 with 110 K). Normally, I replace the transmission fluid through the dipstick every 3000 miles (2 Quarters I can remove each time). I do believe my transmission is in an excellent condition (I do very good Preventive Maintenance to take care it)
I would like to keep this car for as long as I can. Recently, I am thinking one scenario situation -----if my transmission needs to be repaired due to some of the soft parts wear out, then what should I do?

Choice 1 ---have someone to take AW70 down and to get it fixed with new soft parts.
Choice 2 ---buy a rebuilt AW70 (an entire set) and exchange with my old one.

I’d like to keep my original one with a minor fix with new soft parts. But I have heard that today it is very difficult to find someone (in a small local garage) to do this for us because of higher risk of failure. So some people highly recommend me buy a rebuilt one because it should be fully tested before it leaves the shop (the transmission rebuilt factory).

Is it possible to take it down and send it to the shop and to get it rebuilt and tested?
