ABS/Speedo Sensor 700

My ABS dash light comes on and off, so does my speedometer indicator...This is getting super annoying and I would like to get rid of the problem. I've been checking my Haynes manual and it stipulates that a abs and speedo sensor is located in the rear axel. I'm wondering if it could not be a wiring problem, and if so, does these wires follow the trunk, were can I find'em and chek'em out. My car is a 740 ti sedan '88, thanks for your time.
