Friends of mine are looking at an 89 740 SW with the 16 valve head. I have heard some not so favorable comments about the engine. I know that it will go better than the regular two valve, but have been told that the oil pump drive is not as good as the regular B230 unit and that if you happen to break the timing belt, the result is catastrophic. Please let me know your thoughts on this. The owners want $3900 for the car. It's pretty clean and has 145K on it, low mileage for a regular B230 engine unit, but for a 16 valver?
