auto trans. dip stick 900 1995

I recently purchased a 95 960 and the trans. dip stick seemed to be missing the handle, all I had was the lower part which locks into the tube. So I called a salvage yard and theirs was described as being just like mine! what the hell!!! any body tell me what's up with this?? trikendave
