After I get the giant hole in my floorboards fixed, and the 2 leaks that I think have caused the giant hole in my floorboards, is there a good substitute for the foam padding under the carpet? I want to use something that won't hold the water. From what I've gathered fromthe guy that is going to fix the boards for me and messages here, it's those pads that are 1/2 of the floorboard rust problem. I don't think they're there for padding but rather for sound issues. I'm pretty certain of this because it's much louder in the car withou them in right now. Can I use like an less expensive version of dynamat, if it exists? Any ideas are appreciated.
