No fuel through the injectors wiring question, please help 200 1986

I would first like to thank everyone for help before. I now have fuel @ 40+psi but my injectors will not open. I have tested the power by a test light. I am getting power at the injectors. I was told by a marine mechanic that if you test injectors with test light you can blow the ecu. This car is a 1986 with the transplant engine from a 1983. I have the wiring harness from the 1986 car on the 1983 engine, would it be wise to buy a 1983 wire harness or will this combo work?
