My 242 Turbo is quite hard to start when the engine is warm. By warm I mean the engine has sat for 1.5-3 hours after being run. I wouldnt mind if I didnt have to crank a bit to get it to go, but it wont stay running afterwards either.
Many times I can get it start, fire and sorta run, but then it stalls out again. And is hard to start and run yet again.
This may have something to do with the mood swings that occur during its warm up cycle. It gets stumbly and sometimes dies about 2-3 minutes after startup. John Laughlin and I think that is when the o2 sensor warms up and starts sending signals.
I have tried ticking the starter a few times to see if it would start easier and that does not seem to help. Putting the accelerator to the floor seems to help, but not regularly.
It starts fine cold, takes a few cranks (very quick) mainly because the main pump doesnt seem to prime the system in the II position like it used to. It also starts fine hot (< 1 hour after shut off)
Otherwise the car runs well, good power and mileage. I would like to check all the systems to make sure they are functioning properly (IE lambda feedback, base idle, mixture)
I plan to check for vacuum leaks, but I think it has more to do with the cold start injector, and/or fuel related.
any angles always appreciated
thanks
take care
Luke
