Thermostat gauge wasn't were it should be this morning 700 1992

Hi all,

This morning I was late for work so i started the car, let it idle for 15 seconds and took off. Now granted, I like to warme the engine for a least a minute before driving off in the morning. Anyway, I'm going down the road and i notice that my thermostat gauge is still only a quarter of the way where it should be. Hmmm... thats strange because within 2 mile from my house the needle is alway half way (normal). Well the needle never reaches halfway and the heat is warm but not hot like it usually is. Not to concerned about the heat because it's summer in New England. When I got on the highway I noticed that the needle started to drop and when I was stoppped at a traffic light the needle would raise. So when i finally arrived at work I did some checking.

I let the engine run to see if it would overheat. No overheating and the needle stayed at the halfway point as normal. The aux fan also came on and this is normal too.

Could be a stuck thermostat!! or maybe it will clear it self.
