My 740 has finally had enough by the look of it. It was running fine this morning, until about 5 mins after driving it started bucking a little and misfiring. The whole way while it was cold, it missed about 3 times, only small misses, but misses none the less.
When i pulled over, it ran slower and rougher and then died, it tried to keep running, but couldn't. I went to restart it, and it just turned over for about 20 seconds and then *just* jumped into life, only to run REALLY bad again. I have checked ALL the relays, spark, etc, it has 12V on one side of the coil 13.8 on the other..... (from the battery) and it will not come off idle very wel if you press the accelerator, it splutters and coughs and REALLY jerks alot. If you press it gently, it will come off idle with some odd missing every now and again. The exhaust smells quit bad, it doesn't smell like petrol at all. the car ran on after one attempted start.... It appears to run a little smoother at idle after about 6 seconds after unplugging the AMM. Um, When it wouldn't start before the Tach was jumping like CRAZY, i mean, constant 1200 while starting and then it started jumping up to about 5000 rpms. Even though i was *just* turning off the car, giving up on trying to start it. I am at a wits end here, and don't have much money left. I need help!! Please someone MUST know something about what could be wrong!! PLZ HELP! Thanks,
Az
