I have a 1983 240 Turbo with some problems. Symptoms are loping while at idle. This loping happens only while in park. the car sometimes stalled and sometimes surges. Turbo does not seem to attain full boost as it previous did because the boost gauge does not indicate full boost (factory boost gauge). I have installed new intank fuel pump, main fuel pump, fuel accumulator, fuel filter, injector rings, timing belt, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor button, and fuel pump relay. There is still noise coming from the main fuel pump as if it is still straining. I adjusted the Throttle position Adjustment screw, and the car now starts easier and does not lope as bad ,but I don't think this was the solution to my problem. I may now be runing to rich or lean and that horrible noise is still coming from the main pump
I have read most of the threads on intank fuel problems problems. I have also changed three intank pumps. Now realizing that the problem does not seem to be it unless there's something I'm missing. The car runs ok. There is just this noise coming from the main pump that is irritateing the hell out of me. Also a little lope at idle. Ive changed pumps, accumalater, filter etc.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
