I've agreed to help out a friend installing a DIN-sized MiniDisc player in his '90 745. I've searched the archives and searched the web, but I still have some questions. I'm unfamilar with the 700 series and I haven't yet looked closely at this car.

Is there any wiring diagram for the Volvo radio? I've found three for the 700, they're all different.

Can I install a standard DIN-sized unit w/out a downsizer?

The Volvo deck has one knob. The archives lead me to think that it should come out by pushing two tabs on either side of it, those tabs pop out, and I can pull it out by them. Is that the way it works?

Is this a six speaker system? My friend tells me there is an amplifier under the driver's seat for the rear speakers. Can I splice the speaker outputs into the amp or will I need to rig a set of RCA cables to plug into this amplifier?

Second question: The Eternally Locked Glovebox. He's never been in the glove box, because it's never worked. Knob turns...nothing. What can be done, short of ripping it out? We want to get to the radio literature/security code.
