Fuel Guage Accuracy 200 1983

1983 DL Wagon 245 automatic.

My fuel guage accuracy seems to be bad. When the needle gets near the lower part towards "empty," there is still 1/3 of a tank of gas left. Do Volvo's do this normally?

Just wondering...
