Advice needed from experienced 240 drivers. My 240 (93 with 108K) sedan's suspension shudders when crossing pavement joints and other bumpy conditions at highway speeds. Probably happening at slower speeds too, but it's not as noticeable because the vehicle isn't striking the road joints as hard. The shudder is momentary and consistent with each bump encountered. I can't determine if it is from front, back, or both suspensions. There is no prolonged rocking of the vehicle when going over dips etc. Along with the shudder is more than a fair amount of noise when the wheels/tires strike these road bumps. The passenger seat even shakes each time the car goes over such a bump(s). Needless to say, when driving on pavement with expansion joints every 40 feet, the ride is not pleasant. I hope this is not the normal for a 240. What can/should be done here to remedy this? I'm thinking that the shocks need replacement, even though the car doesn't have a prolonged "boat rocking" motion when traversing dips in the road. Is shock replacement enough, or are there suspension bushings that could be contributing to the problem? Are there other suspension upgrades that might need to be made? Just looking to make this daily driver into a comfortable, quiet ride. Thanks in advance for any explanations/suggestions (including brands of replacement parts) you may have.
