Part identification 200 1991

I am trying to identify a part and what it does. There are a couple pictures of it in my Haynes 240 series manual 1976-1993. It is pictured on the following pages:4A-31 & 4A-32 illustrations 13.7, 13.8, and 13.54.

13.54 shows the best picture of it. In the picture, it is just to the right of the voltmeter near the 3 o'clock position. There is a small thin hose that runs from the firewall into the part which attaches to the intake manifold. The hose is attached to a 90 degree thin pipe on the part. The part looks like a white plastic adaptor in the center with a rubber hose on each end. It is held to the intake with a small clamp.

If anyone knows what the name of it is and what it's fucntion is, I'd sure appreciate it. I had pulled it off while doing some work on my egr system and I think I may have loosened it and caused some vacuum leaks. ???

Thanks in advance!
