Hi all,
My brick died the other night. Here is the course of events: I pulled the old stereo out of the center console panel which required removing the panel. well, i removed some other items in the process, including the vacuum hoses for the defrost/recirc. gates, and the cig. lighter clip. I thought that was all i pulled out, but i think i did something else. So anyway, after doing this, when I went to start it, the alt. light and the brake failure lights didn't go on. I didn't think much of it except that the car died soon after. So i get it home and fool with it and the alt., etc. lights come on at one point, but then go off again. Now, I know i need that alt. light to charge with, so i'm wondering if anyone has ever trouble shot this particular problem, and where I should start. I will replace the wiring under the crank pully which is shot, and see if that helps, but i think it was something that happened when I pulled that damn center console off. by the way, when the alt. light worked that one time, there were two relay clicks, and when it doesn't work there was only one click from the hazard light relay. is there a relay that also contains the alt. warning light wire that i may have disconnected, and where is it? how do i test it?
please help.
thanks,
abe
