This weekend it was raining and I lost control turning onto a sidestreet. I skidded towards the corner and was getting real close to stopping as I was coming to the fence. Then I feel a slamming into something hard. It's wet and rainy, so I want to get home and I think "shit I hope i didn't hit something important." I have trouble starting and I'm thinking, omg, I've killed this wonderful car we've had for 16 years. Had I hit the oil pan? I get out to check for oil all over the ground, there wasn't any liquids (obvious because of the rain.) So, the car stutters and hesitates real bad at first, but gets better on the way home. Today it ran perfectly fine like normal.
I later noticed that a 6 inch corner line on the front of the bumper had the plastic chipped. I attribute that to hitting the curb as the front end was leaning down while i was braking.
So, I was trying to get some feedback on what caused the engine to stutter. I know the wiring harness is not good, and I have trouble starting in the rain sometimes. Did hitting the curb knock some water into the trouble spots in the wiring harness? Did something just get knocked off it's side for a few minutes due to the sudden stop?
