Pressure in radiator/ cooling system 700 86

This past weekend I drained and flushed my radiator fluid. I used some new hoses and things. I filled it to the max mark with a 50/50 mixture. After a day it went down about a quarter of the reservoir tank. It has stayed there since. After traveling around today I loosened the cap and a significant amount of fluid spewed out and drained down into the engine bay. (about a half pint) I notice there is a hissing sound coming from the cap also. Is this normal because the engine is hot and stuff expands?
